dreaming japanese
carschti, 16:18h
On Monday I had a strange dream. I almost forgot this one, but it´s so strange that I have to write this one down. My dream:
I´m sitting somewhere in a small room. I can´t see much, although it´s light in there. I can see a person sitting opposite on the table. It´s my colleague Tim, who is in Japan the first time and arrived on sunday. Well, he´s not a genius regarding languages and so I´m stunned when he asks me questions in Japanese with a perfect pronouncation.
[ I don´t how I managed to dream about words I heard only ones or twice before without counting them to my knowledge at all.]
However, I tried to answer his questions in Japanese, but I sounded so stupid compared to his perfect japanese. He was asking me question like, about Japan in general, about grammar and the different counting systems. I wasn´t able to answer all questions but I did my best [Actually in my dream I did better, than I would have in real life.] His final statement was in english:
"How long are you now in Japan? Four months and you still can barely speak this language!"
I woke up around 2°° in the morning and I couldn´t fall asleep for a long long time.
The positive thing about this dream is, that I´m newly motivated to learn this language.

elevating the doodles
carschti, 15:00h
Today I learned a new word: doodle. Well, I have known "magna doodle" before, but I never recognized doodle as verb. However, I doodled a lot during the last weeks and eventually I found a proper word for my action.
Exactly 3 years ago, I was the happiest man on earth. Sleepy, excited, worried, overwhelmed and full of energy. This was the day when my daughter was born. Today I´m proud, but a little bit sad, since I can´t join her birthday party. I will Skype her this evening and so I will be a part of the party, when she will blow off her 3 candles.
Quote of the day from a translated procedure:
"When elevating yourself to work, wear a helmet and a safety belt."
