anniversary
carschti, 11:31h
In the company I´m working for it´s common practice that several times a year a round mail is sent, which says: "please come to join my (whatever) party in the kitchen in the 2nd floor."
I hate these emails. They are sent to everybody, clearly knowing that 95% of the staff cannot attend, because they are working somewhere in the world. The only guys attending these parties are considered to be higher management.
Knowing this, I celebrated my own anniversary. I´m now with the company for 2 years. So invited everybody to the break room here in Japan :-) Well knowing that only 4 people can attend... I know I´m mean. But it was fun. The only guys answering my invitation were:
- my boss, who wished me luck for the next few years and
- another colleague, from whom I know that he hates this emails as well. His respond I liked the most. It was honest, full of excitement and positive reflection of my work in the past:
"Fuck you! ;-)"
He´s a nice guy and this is his opinion about these kind of mails addressed to everybody.
Beside that the 5 cakes (Baumkuchen) I bought were mostly gone after the lunch break. When I returned this evening even the plate was gone. Someone must have been very hungry.
PS: Whoever has eaten the plate, please return it. It´s the only one I have... ;-(
