lazy bastard
carschti, 12:20h
My plan for the weekend is to go to Hakone area for some hiking and visiting Fuji-san. It will be a around a four hour drive by train so I decided to stay there over night.
I asked my colleagues if someone would like to join, since this will be the last weekend for us in Japan. I´m going alone. D. has an excuse, he already had planned a trip to one of the train spotting places here in the area, but A. is just lazy.
"I don´t know if I should go there. It´s 4 hours by train." , "When would you like to start?", " SO early, Let me think about it.", "Does this trip include hiking or only sitting in the bus?"
His final answer was: "No, I will be not in the mood to go hiking. You can go alone." Perfect. I don´t mind at all, because the one time I went with him hiking in Portland he was dead after not even 120m height difference. He went back, while I continued for ascending for another 1 1/2. Alright he is already in his early 40´s... and I´m in my late teen years. ;-)
To find a hotel or Ryokan was more difficult than I thought. There are hundreds, but the next weekend is a long holiday weekend and so most of the Hotels were already booked or so expensive that I could have taken a taxi to go back during the night. But I was lucky. Eventually I found a Ryokan for 36Euro per night. Unfortunately with shared bath and toilet, but it´s only one night.
So in case someone is keen on hiking, trains, boats, ropeways and having a good weekend at Mt. Fuji, you´re welcome to join.
